EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation & Reprocessing)What is EMDR?
Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) was developed by Francine Shapiro in 1987 and is a therapeutic method that now receives worldwide recognition, particularly in the field of trauma. It is a structured protocol which uses eye movements and other stimuli to facilitate rapid processing of traumatic or upsetting events and/or limiting beliefs that have been causing you distressing symptoms. EMDR is a solution-focused approach to helping you process what happened, reduce its impact in the present, and move towards how you want to feel instead. I am an advanced practitioner utilising a combination of clinical somatic bodywork, coaching and EMDR. Please note that while my practice incorporates advanced therapeutic, somatic, and psychological processing techniques, I am not a registered counsellor or psychotherapist. My services are therapeutic and trauma-informed, focusing on emotional clearing, re-processing and somatic release. EMDR may help if you are experiencing any of the following: fears and phobias, anxiety, stress, traumatic memories, self-esteem issues, performance issues, bereavement, frustration in career or relationships, lack of confidence, lack of direction/motivation, nerves before speaking/exams/tests, chronic illness/pain, weight issues/body confidence Contact me to book an appointment.
